This year in PLP 9, our extended field school was traveling to Florida for 9 days. We were there to answer the question What Draws us To Imaginary Worlds? To answer that we spent 4 days at Disney; one day for each park. And also we spent a day at N.A.S.A and Universal Studios.
The first day we went to the most popular park in Disney, The Magic Kingdom, in that park was the ride that I was using to make my video, the Tomorrowland Speedway. For me the highlight of that day was walking though the gates and seeing that iconic castle. Another highlight was probably just spending so much time with my friends.
The next day though was my favorite day off all. Unfortunately my phone at this time was slowly killing itself so I I don’t have any photos, but that day was the most fun in as long as I can remember. I only have one photo from Universal and it’s a good one.
I’m not going to cover every day, so I’m skipping to the day we spent at N.A.S.A, for me it was a day I will remember my entire life. And the most defining moment was when we were sitting in a small, oddly shaped room, and then the wall in front of us rose up and in front of us was the Atlantis Shuttle.
The day continued to be awesome with more amazing tours of rockets, launch pads, and more. Unfortunately I couldn’t take many photos but here’s what I got.
I’m going to skip ahead to Thursday the 8th when we made our return to Disney, but more specifically to EPCOT. For me my highlight of that day was the Test Track, the whole experience of learning about the future of cars, and also how difficult and complicated designing a car really is.
The next day was the day that we went to the animal kingdom, which is interesting because it is Disney park meets nature reserve. For me the nature tour was easily a highlight, where we say alligators to elephants.
The final day I’m going to talk about is the day we visited Hollywood Studios, a park with everything based around the movie side of Disney. The best part of my day was seeing all my childhood wonders of Star Wars in front of me.
So that was my Florida trip. For me the highlight was spending time in an amazing place with amazing people, a great example is the namesake for this post. In my van was Tatum, Kate, Alex, Ryan L, and Ethan, and the whole trip we jammed out to one direction
