For my race team, called D.A.R.T, or Deepcove Advanced Race Team, it is a tradition to spend at least a weekend in Tofino during march break. We take a break from racing and we surf during this time. This year was the first year that the whole team couldn’t go at one time, so this year we went in two waves. I went with Mike, my coach, his wife Karly and their two kids, Kanami who is 2 and Kane, who is 5 months old.
