Hello my fellow classmates, friends, and complete strangers. This blog post is going to be a brief one because I spent way to much time on the video (it’s above, watch it!). This video was to show off what we had learnt about filming. I used many of the skills that I had learnt so far this year and I think the video turned out great. All these skills will become very useful in the future, especially if I go into some job with filming. So what exactly is this video?
On November 14th, grade 9 students from across Canada participate in take your kid to work day. It’s as simple as it sounds, the students go to their parents work or a friends parents and basically learn what it’s like to have a job. I think it’s really cool because I now know what my dad does and how jobs can be long, long, long, and fun at the same time. My dad is an avionics engineer at Air Canada (he fixes airplanes). He has very long 12 hour shifts and I thought that it would be cool if I stayed the whole time, so I did. It was very long. Like very long. The day was really fun though because I got to cruise around the area where all the airplanes are. I saw so many things I never have before because I got to go in limited access places (like only for employees). I also got to go on many empty planes. I got to go on one plane that was pitch black, stupid me decided it would be cool to run to the back of the plane and back. I also took a quick nap where the flight attendants sleep when they aren’t flight attending. Anyways, the whole experience was amazing. I learnt that my dad has lots of spare time where you can just watch YouTube. The video at the top is a day in the life of an avionics engineer. It’s more of a vlog of what happened in my day. Anyways, hope you like it!
Until next time… Aedan Loughran
