Whats up guys! Today is going to be the start of a few blog posts for a blog challenge. Mrs Willemse (Maker teacher) has signed our class up to join the International Student Blog Challenge. There are over 2000 students entered in it. How it works is each week we have a challenge. The challenges help us learn how to do some things on our blog we might not have known. Some of the weeks I will not have a blog post, but something in my blog would have changed. We are a little behind so I’m doing the first three weeks in a couple of days. Anyways this is week two’s challenge. Commenting! We have learnt about what makes a good quality comment. Above are my five golden rules to commenting on my blog. We had to create these after learning about what makes a good blog post. I will show you some comments I have done on other people’s blog posts to give you an idea of what a quality comment looks like.

Above is a comment I wrote on Jacqui’s blog. If you love a post you can still fight a good quality comment. Instead of writing “post good dude” you could talk about some specific parts of the post that are good. In this comment I mention the blogs layout is simple and easy to follow. This always gives the blogger a good idea of what to keep doing.

This next comment I did shows some things to do when giving feedback or suggestions. I thought Savannah’s blog post was very clear and interesting, but I thought she could have used some more photos. Instead of saying “MORE PHOTOS… PLEASE!!!” I started it off with a compliment. This makes it so the blogger knows you appreciate their hard work and they will be more accepting of some feedback.

Don’t worry! I did not post this comment! This is an example of a not acceptable comment. It’s not constructive or nice and it could be taken offensively. I wrote this comment (and did not post it) on Love’s blog because I just love the name Love. Anyways, I hope you learned some things about commenting and if you did comment below!

Until next time… Aedan Loughran
