Recently in our math class, we had to do a project, a project about our dream house. In this project we had to calculate the cost and size of our imaginary houses and present them to the class. I thought it was a fun and exciting project that we did in our class and I hope to do it again. Here is what happened.
We started off learning about how to get areas of spaces and the perimeters of shapes. We did a few assignments on that and then we got into the actual project. Our class divided in to groups of 2-4 people and began designing our own kitchens, rooms and houses. We had to do a lot of math and it was frustrating doing it over and over again, but it was good practice for our actual house that we would build in around a week. A week went by and my group began planning. One of our members left midway through to join another group, so I was in a group of two with one of my friends. Together we created a house in a video game called Minecraft, where we built our dream house.
Here are a few pictures of the house-
Once we finished building the house, we got to create blueprints and got the square footage of the house. The final cost was around 1.5 Million dollars and the square footage was around 1960 feet.
That concludes my blog post on our dreamhouse project. Overall it was a fun project that I enjoyed doing and hope to do in the future.
