I’ve given this quite a bit of thought, and I’m still not confident with my decision. I had to think of something that incorporated the this that I love, and even a bit of my personality, and for me that isn’t an easy task. This assignment was one of the assignments that made me think about which parts of my personality are the most prominent, and if there was a sign that could symbolize me. A sign that if you were to see, you would think, “thats like Alana!”. So I finally decided on the Nerdfighter gang symbol.
Not only does this symbolize something I love, but the people who know what it is would a) know not to shoot me, and b) have a bit of an idea who I am. It shows that my general interests revolve around things like Harry Potter, Sherlock and Dr. Who. It shows that I’m a person who genuinely cares about our world, and wants to make it the best place for everyone. This sign isn’t perfect, for the people who have never seen it before, or have no idea what a nerdfigher is, would have absolutely no clue what it is, or why I think it symbolizes me. Some people might not even know that it’s inspired by the Vulcan salute, or even what a Vulcan is, which is one of the main problems for choosing this as my symbol. But when it comes down to it, I can’t think of any better choice, or a choice more awesome. DFTBA.
