Suspense in movies is a great way to lure in your viewers to make them much more interested in the story. Of course, you are probably thinking of movies like Jaws and various horror films when you think of the term “suspense” for movies, but there is most likely a suspense scene somewhere in there. Take one of my favorites for example, “The Hurricane”, is classified as a biography movie about Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, and even though it doesn’t have a main antagonist planning to kill Rubin, it does have a pretty suspenseful scene. This scene uses a large build up (not seen) with music leading up, but as the music stops the judge announces his decision. By using the music this way, and with holding information you so desperately want, it makes you sit on the edge of your seat wanting to know the ending.
