We have finished reading the play “Julius Caesar.” I must say it was a very long and somewhat confusing tale. Almost everything was a metaphor or was in very old English but it was very good nonetheless. I learned a lot about how Caesar rose to power and was abruptly stopped in life by his closest friends. I also started to appreciate how politics are very treacherous and you have to think about everything you do because some people might take it the wrong way. I also learned about how plays are written and how much effort it takes to make one. Actually I’m helping to make one right now. I’m apart of a group of six that are taking a piece from the play that has relation to how we control our destiny.
Now I don’t know if you have read or seen the play but our piece that we a doing is when the soothsayer says beware the ides of March to Caesar. We also have to modernize the language that is the hardest part because you really have to understand what Shakespeare meant when he wrote it.
