IBooks, The books of the future

When we were done the explain everythings we started an iBook. As a class we were assigned roles. I was assigned to the writer group along with Adam and Makyla. The writers job was to write introductions for each religion and also the big introduction for the IBook. I did the introductions for the new world religions while Makyla did the introductions for the western and eastern religions. Adam did the big introduction for the iBook. When I first wrote the introductions each was about five or four sentences and didn’t include much information. Although I knew I should of added more I was in a rush to get it all done. Luckily I got another week to edit them all and I did more extensive research and worked on extending the paragraphs. Here is one of the end products.

Jainism introduction; Jainism is a religion that began in ancient India with the first Tirthankara, Teaching God, Rsabhadeva. No one knows specifically when Jainism began but there is evidence that shows it dates back to at least the first century BCE. Jain is derived from the Sanskrit word for conqueror. This shows the key value for Jains, to conquer all inner passions such as desire or attachment. One very key and big belief of Jains is that there should be no act of violence towards any living being. Gandhi was even influenced by Jainism and did use many of the Jain principles. Currently there are around 4-6 million Jains worldwide. The most popular Jainism country is India, the country of origin, but the US, Canada and Kenya are among the bigger Jain communities around the world.
