S.M.A.R.T. Goals

In the past week in Maker time we have been making S.M.A.R.T. goals.

S.M.A.R.T. Goals are a way to make goals be more effective and specific.

S- Specific

M- Measurable

A- Attainable

R- Rigourus, Relevent, Realistic and Results Focused

T- Timely and trackable

Now after reviewing what smart goals are, we had to make three different goals that we want to achieve this year.

1. Learning in school

2. Character  Growth

3. Learning outside of school

After making my three goals I was told to do an audio recording of me saying the three goals and creating a visual related to each goal.

The first visual was a shot I took when I was with my family in Quebec City this summer. We travel a fair bit to Ottawa and Quebec because we have family there but we also enjoy travelling around the area. The main reason I chose to work on my French skills was because I found, espically this summer, I wasn’t able to understand much french and I want to travel there a fair bit in the future so I want to develop my french skills so I can understand and speak the language.

The next photo is of my white board which I am using to manage my work load and prioritize what I need to get done. I have three sections; one is what I need to get done, next is what I am working on currently and last is what have I finished. Hopefully over the course of the year I will be able to use this to make sure I don’t miss any work and I can have more time to do other things.

The last image is a photo from one of my light weight trips. The main reason why I chose to make a goal about light weight camping is because I have been slowly working on my skills and I want to really focus on them this year with my venture company so I can go do a bunch of really cool hikes like Elsay Lake and some others in the area. My end goal for light weight camping is to be able to be dropped off in the middle of the forest and be able to survive, for an allotted amount of time, with only the items I brought on my back.
