Here is my recommended song for this post.
So, this post, like the last one, is one of three posts I will be doing along with reading through the play “The Crucible”. The last post was on Heaven and Hell and this post will be on the topic of revenge.
The question we received was “When has been a time you have sought revenge? Has anyone ever sought revenge on you?” Now you’re probably thinking what does this have to do with a play. Well, one of the central things going on in the play is that in the town of Salem many people were seeking revenge for petty things such as, this person fired me from working as her maid and I have a thing for her husband so now I’m going to make sure she hangs. Now that is pretty drastic but it is a actual example in the play.
So, now for my answer to the question. I did spend some time looking back and thinking who has made me mad and why and did I seek revenge for it. I finally found one and I currently am still seeking revenge for it, along with Ryan.
We both play for Mount Seymour Little League and we are in some of the higher divisions and naturally we play people across the lower mainland and in Victoria. Now during the regular season we played Victoria three times and we beat them twice.
Then this year in All-Stars, which is our summer competitive team, we played them in provincials.
Now I’m sure you can guess what the revenge story is. The tournament went like this. Our first game was against Victoria and we beat them. Our second game was against a team from Whalley. They were the best team, and were the ones who won the tournament in the end. So naturally we lost. At that point it was between Victoria and us again and the winner would play Whaley for the chance to go to Nationals. So there was a lot on the line really. It was this game or we are done.
D5 Seniors All Stars went 1-2 at Provincials to fall in the semis. The results didn’t turn out the way we hoped but it wasn’t for any lack of team spirit! Good luck to D3 Fraser Valley Warriors at Nationals. pic.twitter.com/g6aSaxmQTj

Now I won’t go into the game too much but being from the north shore we have lots of sass when it comes to sports. So it did get heated at some points (those are my favourite) and since I wasn’t playing that game I was apart of a few moments between the teams.
We ended up losing the game, mostly because we struggled offensively, which of course made us sad and a little angry as well. We really wanted a chance to get to nationals. So since me and Ryan were both on the team and we were heavily affected by Victoria’s win we have made a personal vendetta and we want to beat them every time we play them next year during the regular season.
We we both have things we need to work on so we spend a lot of time in the batting cage (mostly me because I’m not a strong hitter) training during the off season. We both are also pitchers (don’t mean to brag but I have a wicked curveball) so we also spend time working and developing our arms.
Now since we have to create a piece of media related to our answer to the question Ryan and I created a short video documenting some of the typical training we do to prep for the upcoming season in the hopes of obliterating Victoria.
