Summer Stuff

I had a very busy summer this year I went on four different trips and I’m about to go on another.

My first trip was to a scout property on the Sunshine Coast. Every summer there is a summer camp run for two weeks. I decided to volunteer at the summer camp. All of the volunteers are assigned jobs, now I was aiming for the service team, the clean up crew, but I was councillor. So, I was with the kids all day making sure they had fun. By the end of the first week I was so tired that I almost started to drink coffee to keep me awake. Something I will always remember about that first week is getting a bag of eggs dumped on me at a activity called kangaroo court. Kangaroo court is where the kids say the staff’s crimes and the staff are punished for them.

After coming home from the summer camp I went up to Sun Peaks. At Sun Peaks I went on tons of hikes and walked around the village there. It was a lot of fun but me and my family were struggling for things to do because Sun Peaks is a winter town where nothing happens in the summer.

After Sun Peaks I went to a trailer I have at a lake by Cache Creek. There I read three books in the course of a week and just relaxed. I swam a little bit but I was very obsessed with my books. Half way through our stay there, there was a thunder and lightning storm at 5:00 in the morning and lasted until noon.

When hen we returned from those two trips I had a week and half lay-over until I left for Parksville to visit my grandparents. In the course of the week I went on numerous bike rides and hung out in my cold basement.

I then took the ferry over to Nanaimo and got picked up by my grandpa and headed to Parksville. At Parksville I went to some used bookstores in search of any good book, I visited Coombs for ice cream, old fashioned root beer and to visit the used book store there. I also went golfing twice with my grandpa at a 9 hole course. I was the best at hitting trees.

After returning home I have set up my iPad for next year and once again hung out in my basement. Next week I am going to Victoria to visit my newborn cousin that hasn’t being born yet
