Hey everyone!
Welcome to my blog once again, this time for the third This Week I Learned. If you don’t know yet, every week I’ll be doing a blog post about what I learned in Humanities about Romeo and Juliet.
This week I created a graphic with a news story about the deaths of Tybalt and Mercutio.
This is representative of the showdown between Romeo, Mercutio, Tybalt and friends . From a writer’s perspective, they’d have to be neutral between sides, which would be difficult but I decided to try it anyways. This is like being the chorus in the play, who present neutral views/summaries of the events in the play.
I really liked this scene, because though it is two very important characters dying, it sets the stage for a lot of chaotic action in the future— Juliet despairing, her dad trying to marry her off, etc.
In conclusion, I really liked this week and I’m pretty proud of my creation. So far, Romeo and Juliet is going well and I am enjoying the story thoroughly.
Come back next week for my future posts!
