Music is an aspect of life, and without music, films would be morning, there wouldn’t be horror movies, and Spotify/Apple Music wouldn’t exist. Music has been around for thousands of years, and it has advanced alongside humans. For week 5 of the SBC, we had a choice between 8 different tasks, which I chose to do four. They were about the trumpet, how music works and its benefits and finally a survey that you can take.
Music is not only made by professionals, but everyone can learn an instrument. An instrument allows you to play some of your favourite songs with a little bit of practice. I play the trumpet, and this now my fourth year in band. In grade 9, I am currently in the concert and jazz band. Some of the songs we are playing are Pirates of the Caribbean, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Star Wars and much more. Later on, in high school, I want to learn another instrument like the alto saxophone.
The trumpet is a very iconic instrument that almost everyone knows, but not everyone knows how they work. The trumpet is a brass instrument and uses air produced by closed lips, essentially making a buzzing sound. The vibrations of air are compacted, making a noise. The faster/ tighter your facial muscles are, the higher note you produce. The trumpet of the trumpet is bent twice with a set of valves in the middle that lead the air into different pipes to control the pitch/note. The valves in the center control the passage where the air follows. Eight different combinations make every note, but only 6 of them are regularly used. The trumpet first was used in battles or hunting and variations BCE. They began being used as musical instruments in the late 14th or early 15th century.
The form of vibration is caused by something emitting energy producing sound. The amount of energy supplied outwards determines the amplitude (volume) and frequency (pitch) of the sound waves. The sounds are configured into a rhythm that turns into music. Listening to music provides benefits showed by many articles. When working on assignments, music can improve creativity, and it can significantly improve your motor and reasoning skills. Finally, it helps people with visual attention, change the mood of someone and help people exercise.
Throughout PLP, we have had to make songs for projects. In some of the project, I have used music I have made with my brother in the past. We used a Program called FL studios to create the music and background sound spectrum. This music was really useful in projects, and it was fun to create at the same time. For band, we are doing some impeccable songs, and we are currently recording for our trip to Disney Land to play in front of thousands of people. For one of the task in week 5, we had to make music. I chose to make music using GarageBand and downloaded some audio packs online. The music is not the best, as it was quickly thrown together. Garage band has some useful tools, but it doesn’t have the diverse toolset FL Studios has. Some of the music I have made on FL Studios is way better, and I have used it for my Revolution videos (soon to have a post) and my Alberta video.

Every day you will occur music, and hopefully, this was informative and interesting. If you enjoy music, this simple survey about your songs, genre, etc. This post was fun to write about, and hopefully, you learnt something.

Thank you, Anders, for sharing your musical knowledge and talents! My name is Barbara; I am a middle/high school Spanish teacher, and I love everything about music! I have a great appreciation for people who play instruments and can read music. Unfortunately, I never learned, but some day I will!
What do you think is the most difficult part of learning to play an instrument? What is the easiest? How much time does it take to learn enough to play with a band?
Thank you for your input!

Thanks for commenting.
The most challenging part is the steep learning curve when you first pick up an instrument. I don’t know what the easiest is, but you learn gradually. The band is with school, so as I go up in high school, the band will get harder. You should check out some of my recent posts. They explain the process and product of a projects.
