PLP Winter Exhibition

Hey guys it’s Ben again and last December my class had a giant exhibition where we presented what we learned that term. We were learning about Religious Worldviews. Our goal was to answer the driving question. ‘How is religious worldview represented in the real world?’

If you aren’t sure what a worldview is check out another post I made about my worldview.

It all started when we had a giant field study to many religious structures. I mean, churches, mosques, synagogues, gurdwaras, and temples. We went to the religious building of Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. At those places we learned all about the traditions and practices of that religion, what they believed in, and how they show that in their lifestyle. Then we had to make a slideshow using pictures about how religious worldview was represented in the real world.)

Then we were put into groups and assigned one religion to answer how their worldview was shown through religion. Our religion was Buddhism. But first we needed to make a poster.

Our first draft was very bad. My group, Brenton, Kira, and Lauren all decided that it was too wordy and not enough visuals.

Draft two wasn’t much better. We had gotten rid of the words but the background was an ugly green.

Draft three had improvements but the background made the few words we had hard to read.

Our final draft was almost perfect. We put about 2 weeks into making these posters and the outcome was not disappointing.

After we had finished our poster, my class would prepare for the Winter Exhibition itself. My group made green and chai tea because Buddhists drink those two teas a lot. Finally, we were ready to present at the Exhibition.

I learned a lot from this project. I learned a lot about religion, Buddhism, and myself as well as improving my presentation skills. I can’t wait for next year as it was actually very fun. I feel like I grew a lot from this project. I am much better at talking and presenting and I grew academically too. I feel much more creative and know that there will be many drafts and failures to get a good final product. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you guys later!
