Welcome to the official press release of the R&R Party of Canada. The R&R Party was founded by Izzy, Natalie, Rhiann, Zoe, and myself. The 5 of us believe that Canada is in dire need of a new, fair, and just political change.
The R&R Party believes that all Canadians should be represented fairly in the House of Commons, something that is not happening right now. R&R stands for Revise and Reform because we believe that the current electoral structure does not represent the wishes and beliefs of Canadians.
Our Priorities:
The R&R Party believes that the current electoral system does not correctly portray how Canadians feel in politics. By implementing proportional representation we want to allow all Canadians to truly vote for who they want to vote for. We want to add a second vote to the electoral system. This will allow Canadians to not only vote for their representative but also vote for who they want the Prime Minister to be.
Canada’s senate is quite literally outdated and old. Canada is not represented in the senate, a senate filled with retired and old politicians. We want to give the Indigenous groups of Canada a true voice in the legislature by replacing all current senators with Indigenous peoples. With a full Indigenous senate, the First Nations of Canada will finally have a say in Canada’s government.
Our Mission:
After we change Canada’s electoral system for the better, the R&R party wants to focus on maintaining a clean environment, minimize social class inequality, and allow all Canadians to receive any mental health support they need. Renewable and clean energy, waste management, and electric transit systems are all plans we have to reduce Canada’s carbon emissions. By raising the carbon tax for large corporations, we hope to use that money to solve homelessness problems, and fix the wealth gap in Canada. Every Canadian deserve a fair chance to succeed, and with the R&R party, we plan to make sure this happens.
Our Values:
Canada’s current electoral system does not hear every Canadian voice. Our number one value is to make sure that Canada remains a true and fair democratic country. We understand that it is our responsibility to maintain Canada as an international symbol of social equality, opportunity, and democracy.
We hope that we receive your vote in the next election so we can make sure Canada remains a beautiful country.
