DI, it’s short for Destination Imagination and it’s the project that we just finished. I’ve got to say, it was more fun than I expected. For DI, your put into 1 of 4 different groups; Technical, Scientific, Engineering, or Fine Arts. Once you are in you group, you have to figure out with your group, a way to creatively show the solution that your group came to. I was in fine arts and my group was tasked with creating a music video. In the music video, we had to incorporate a piece of historical Canadian literature. We chose Anne of Green Gables. It’s kinda hard to show you how we incorporated it into our video with just words, so here’s a little bit of our planning that we did to incorporate Anne of Green Gables.
As you can see, a lot of our back drop ideas were based off of Anne of Green Gables. We also based our costumes off of the original costume designs.
Something that worked out really well for us was being able to film in the forest near our school. We live in such a great environment. It was such a privilege to be able to film in the beautiful outdoors. Something that was challenging was having to use a green screen to film the classroom scenes. We did this because we couldn’t find a classroom that looked like one that would be in Anne of Green Gables. Over all, DI was a really cool experience and I am grateful to have been able to participate in Destination Imagination.
