Every one has a story

Every one has a story but not everyone has the chance to share that story for this project we made podcasts using regular people’s story’s. The first of which was a grade 12 the we would work with again in a later podcast.

This was the easiest of the podcast because the grade 12 understood the project, plus we had a longer time to plan it.

The second one was with a family member this was with my nana. This was a lot more natural then the last one because i know the person but it also came with separate challenges. One of which is the fact that she didn’t have the same edgication on what the podcast was going to sound like in the end. But it wasn’t as hard as the one at the exhibition.

This was hard because the people didn’t have a understanding in some cast what a podcast was and what sort it was going to get turned in to. I interviewed 4 people there and I ended up using a story from one of my class mates mother. This one was easier because my classmate clearly talked to his mother about the project before. If I where to do this project again I would have a example playing before I the background as they walked in.

but to make this last podcast I took a few steps. Unlike the other ones we had to set up a room for the interviewee, with food, mic’s, and a comfortable room. The reason for this is that sometime people are hesitant to tell there story and this coforts them and helps them fell free to tell a story that might be closed to them. I also hade to prepare question that i didn’t end up using, but they did help because they gave me ideas for question as I was talking to the interviews.

If I where to do this project again I would  have mad a few changes. The first of which and the biggest one would be to be harder on my grade twelve which was finding the people to interview. At the exhibition he brought his girl friend and was not focusing on the task at hand I ended up getting four interviews in which was pretty good but each one was clearly not though out by the grade 12. He sent people in who didn’t even know that they where going to be recorded and he didn’t try to find people with story he just let anyone tat was will to go in. The second thing I would change is making sure the people understood how the final project would sound because I fell like with out that understanding they wouldn’t be able to give responses that could flow well. This was shown in one of my interviews where a guy would answer in one scentence each time a sought down any path I tried to go down.

a few things that where good was that I was able to find a set up to get good sound quality and I have these ideas to use in the next project.
