tPOLS 2022
tPOL stands for Transitional Presentation Of Learning. I will be answering the Driving Question: “Why do you feel you are ready to advance to the next grade level?” Along with this answer, I will be explaining my growth as a learner.
“Thank you for coming to my presentation of learning. I am the expert on my own learning. I am also responsible and accountable for my own learning. You can expect me to give an honest evaluation of my progress. We will discuss my strengths and opportunities for growth. Thank you in advance for listening and for offering feedback that I can use to improve as a learner.”
We completed 3 courses this year Maker, Humanities, and Scimatics.
Maker:
We completed four Maker projects this year
I think the two projects that I grew my knowledge as a learner were Vibrant Video and Believe In Good I learned a lot in Believe In Good I had trouble keeping up with the assignments at the start and trying to honestly talk about myself. But in the end, I managed to make some very good final projects most notably the interpretive dance that I did it was very hard for me to put myself out there and I am proud that I made the dance. For Vibrant Videos, I made some very funny videos the one where I learned the most was the DIY video we made about how to use a vending machine.

The project I struggled with the most for me would be Your First Film as I struggled to hand in work on time and I did not get to have all the shots that I wanted. If we do another video making project I will hand in work on time to make sure I’m not scrambling to get all my shots done.
Humanities:
We have done a fair amount of humanities projects this year but I will be picking two to talk about.
My Favourite project was Revolutions on Trial as it was apart of the winter exhibition and thus I was able to improve certain competencies such as personal and social as going up there and saying my lines as a lawyer was challenging. In another project I feel I had room to grow, this project was War to End all Wars. This project was challenging for me as it involved drawing, and drawing is very difficult for me as I have trouble with fine motor skills.
Scimatics:
We have done quite a few projects this year in scimatics usually they are pretty fast and quite fun.
There is one project in particular that I did not like this year and that was Chemistry Stories I found this project to be uninteresting and not very fun. I feel the reason I did not enjoy this project was because it involved animation and drawing two things that I don’t like very much nor am I very good at. A project that I enjoyed a great deal was Metaphor Machines the reason I liked this project a lot is because it was a lot of building a Rube Goldberg Machine and I had fun constructing it. In Metaphor Machines I improved my thinking competency as I had to think of creative ways to complete the machine.
Goals and Progress:
I have said what competencies I have been working on this year. But here is my Learning Plan that shows what competency goals I set for myself at the start of this year.
I am slightly disappointed in myself as I did not meet all of these goals I met a few but majority were not met. To change this for next year I will spend more time reviewing my learning plan and making sure connect my goals to each project more cohesively.
Thank you for Reading and or Listening to my 2022 Transitional Presentation of Learning!
