Hello and Happy Holidays!
This will be our last post before Christmas. We’ll be sharing with you the recipe to a fun and easy Christmas sweet that you can make over the holidays. We’re very sorry, but unfortunately this recipe contains nuts!
This is a recipe that you can make with your family and friends and that smaller children can make (with supervision, of course)!
CHURCH WINDOWS
1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips or 3/4 cups each of chocolate and butterscotch chips
1/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup of smooth peanut butter
2 cups of COLOURED miniature marshmallows
1 cup of sweetened flaked coconut
-
In large saucepan over medium-low heat, stir together chips, butter and peanut butter until melted (3-5 min). Remove fron heat and let cool at room temperature (approx 30 min.)
-
Stir in marshmallows and coconut. Refrigerate until firm (approx 1 h.)
-
Divide mixture into thirds on 10-x 6-inch (25×15) piece of waxed paper, roll one-third into log in 6 inch long and 2 inch in diameter. Enclose in waxed paper, twisting to seal. Repeat with remaining mixture. Makes three logs in all. Refrigerate for an hour (make-ahead: refrigerate logs for up to 2 weeks or over-wrap with heavy duty foil and freeze up to 1 month).
-
Cut logs into 1/2 inch thick slices. Makes 45 slices.
We hope you enjoy this sweet, and have fun making it!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
