Hello and welcome to the blog

today, I will present all of my learning throughout the year. I will re-visit my learning plan celebrating and reviewing habits, goals, and competency’s that I accomplished and want to meet for next year. Ill go over my strengths, opportunities for growth, and habits while focusing on on what went well.

I’m going to revisit some of the competencies that I graded myself on back at the start of the year in my learning chart. Each Competency has sub Competency, and within the sub competency are profiles. profile one will show a crude understanding of the sub competency and profile six would show a sophisticated understanding of the sub competency

 

Communication

Communicating

For this sub competency, I chose profile 4. Keep in mind that these are appropriate and honest goals. Choosing a profile like 6 would be way out of my definition of understanding. I think I showed this competency through the comic book I wrote for my A war to end all wars graphically told. In This Humanity’s project, we created a comic book about a battle in the First World, I was able to communicate my understanding of the battle clearly to my audience. I think moving forward, I can look to achieve profile 5 going foreward, because I can confidently say that Im able to use a wide variety of mediums to communicate my message clearly.

 

Collaborating

In this sub competency I chose Profile 3. In collaborating,I think a good example of me achieving this profile was during the PLP spring exhibition, I helped my group come together and create a beautiful exhibit.  

Thinking

Creative Thinking

Creative thinking has to go to the great Destination Imagination. DI is literally a showcase of this competency. At the start of the year I gave myself a profile 3 and after DI I give myself a four. In our Competition we had to create a story from scratch, and I think Our story was super strong and supported and complimented our devices extremely well. Im super proud of our team fro making a creative story and am proud to feel like I have a profile 4 criteria  

 

Critical and Reflective Learning  

In the Critical and Reflective Learning sub-competency I gave myself a profile 4. The Scimatics project: Metaphor Machines I took my past knowledge from the 5th grade in elementary school, about simple machines, and took this past knowledge and implemented it into my new project. I think I can work on achieving a profile 5 next year as I feel like I use this competency in a lot of things.

Personal and Social 

Personal Awareness and Responsibly 

This sub competency is all about habits, awareness, and expression. I A good example this year of me showing this profile the year wouldn’t be in any particular class. I actually think that my blog page is pretty good evidence. When I write blog posts I reflect on what I did well and what could use improvement, which shows awareness and reseposibilty. I would say I need to keep working on profile 3 as I feel I can expand on my learning and detail in my blog posts a little more.

Positive Personal and Cultural Identity

This sub competency is all about being aware of you knowing your identity and who you are. I gave myself a profile 3. An example of my showing this profile is my entire poetry book that I wrote in humanity’s. The book contained poems about who I am and and reflects on personal experiences and my worldview as a whole. I also feel like my short film documentary is good evidence of this as I created a great documentary on something I feel connected too.  I feel like I did a great job of this competency and by next year I can give myself a profile 4

 

Social Awareness and Responsibility  

The final Personal and Social Competency is less about me and more about the people around me. I gave myself a profile 3. Now, I don’t have a ton of evidence to prove my growth in this area but I feel like the Spring Exhibition is relevant in this competency, when I had to collaborate with my team members to create a exhibit. I feel like I get along with my peers teachers and environment well. In groups I can work well with others respectfully and productively. With teachers, I can communicate issues or accomplishments clearly. Going forward I want to can keep working on profile 3 but I am confident I can achieve a profile 4 very soon

Habits and Systems

Through the year, i’ve had many different habits and systems. Some have worked and some, not so effective. Im proud of lately, as I have been organizing my projects ahed of time, and planning out when I work on these projects. What Im not so proud of is how productive I am, when I do work on these. I usually get distracted durning these work sessions, so moving forward I want to improve on my focus and work ethic when I do my homework.

I had learned a lot and worked hard this year, I still think theres lots of room for improvement. Here is a list of some things I think I can work on for the new year.

During class I think I payed more attention in class than the first half of the year. I still think theres more room for improvement, as paying attention in class is very important trait of an engaged learner  

1. Take notes in class so I can come back to the later on while working on homework

2. Record assignments in things so I have a list of things that need being done(also include detailed reports on what to do)

3. Be more involved in class conversations. This is a great way for me to remember things. By contributing to the conversation, Im more likely to remember things that were involved in the lesson.

This year was a bast! I’ve learnt a ton and had a lot of fun. I really enjoyed all of my PLP classes. I cant stress how grateful I am to my teachers and peers for making this year educational and fun, I hope next years just as great, if not better. Have a good summer to all!
