Welcome to my blog, in this post I am going to talk about my last humanities project “it’s the end of the world as we know it”. In this post I am going to talk about the most important milestones and at the end I will show you my answer to the driving question.
Milestone one: Using the 7 aspects of Worldview we have discussed, we had to create a Mindnode with expansions on aspects of your worldview leading to changes or challenges to your worldview.
Put mind map here
Milestone 2: for this milestone we had to re creat the song it’s the end of the world as we know it by REM. We kept the main track but added our own lyrics.
Milestone 3: for this milestone we had to make our lyrics into a song. It’s pretty self explanatory
Milestone 4: for this milestone we talked about cause and consequence. For this we had to research it’s impact on our modern world view

Emergence of humanism Seen above is the vitruvian man by Leonardo da Vinci Why did I pick this image? I chose the vitruvian man by Leonardo da Vinci because this is what people think of when they thing about humanism and our topic is about humanism. Often called "The Canon of Proportions," and also known as "The proportions of the human body according to Vitruvius," the drawing and Leonardo's accompanying text reference the mathematical proportions of the Roman innovator. In the upper margin, Leonardo paraphrases from Book III of Vitruvius's De architectura, writing, "Vetruvio, architect, puts in his work on architecture that the measurements of man are in nature distributed in this manner." While in the lower text, Leonardo draws upon the architect's proportions but corrects them according to his own anatomical studies. Leonardo shared the architect's belief that the proportions of the human body were a kind of microcosm of the symmetry and order of the universe For this section of the project we had to research a topic my group was the emergence of humanism. Why did we choose this? Well if I’m being honest it was the last one available. Why did I pick this image? I chose the vitruvian man by Leonardo da Vinci because this is now onto the important stuff. What I learned about the emergence of humanism. Here’s a bunch of stuff I learned about the emergence of humanism. Early humanists believed the Greek and Latin classics contained all the lessons required for leading a moral and effective life. An article in a 1765 periodical spoke of “the general love of humanity … a virtue hitherto quite nameless among us, and which we will venture to call ‘humanism,’ for the time has come to create a word for such a beautiful and necessary thing.” Humanism is shown by a shift of focus from religious to secular matters. It embraces a belief system that says people can make sense of their world without turning to organized religion. Humanists, instead, find satisfying explanations to life’s mysteries in shared human experience and rational thinking. Humanists do not believe in God or any unnatural deities. Humanists, instead, believe only in the universe, science, nature and themselves and their power to identify a consequential existence inside of their own realities. Humanists are committed to living the best life they can by accepting responsibility for their choices and working with others toward a common good. Drawing from human nature and evidence-based experience, humanists make decisions aimed at achieving mutual respect, quality of life and spiritual fulfillment. “Humanism” refers to the cultural movement that took place in Renaissance-era Europe that was powered by new approaches to science and art along with a new appreciation for their influence on a meaningful existence.
Milestone 5: this is the big milestone, for this one we had to take our solo songs and turn them into a group song. My group was Keenan and Nathan.
sadly I cannot find this song and video at the moment
And now this brings me to the extra stuff.
First the answer to the driving question: Who or what has challenged your worldview in the transition from elementary school to high school?
Answer: I think that for the who portion there isn’t just one person that changed my world view in the transition. As for what I think there are many things that helped, I think the largest thing that helped was the environment of the the time of leaving elementary and heading into high school.
Competency 1. Create: What literacy skills am I using to write, speak, and represent in the texts I create? so how do I think I did on this competency? Well if you looked at the milestones above you would see how I showed this. But I do feel like there are many literacy skills that were used.
Competency 2. Cause and Consequence: Who or what influenced events to occur and what were the consequences of those events? How do I think I showed this and how do I think I did at showing it. I think that some of my milestones show this competency more than the others but I think that the mini keynote was the one that showed this best. I do fell like I did not show this competency more than the other one. So In conclusion the first competency I think I did good in but in the second one I feel like I did not so well.
thanks for reading.
