Hello! Welcome to my first Humanities blog post of the year! What a wonderful project we started off on, I truly think we started on a good path this year! Let me introduce you to our project! To start us off, here’s our driving question:
‘How do people and the environment affect each other?’
For this specific project, we had to pick a topic that had to do with a local environmental issue! Once we picked a local environmental issue, then we moved on to deciding who would be the best person to address our letter to.
Our first big milestone was a Letter Conference. Basically, the letter conference was a little meet with our teachers to make sure we were all setting out in the right direction!
The second big milestone we completed was a mix of different activities on
In which we read and answered questions that correlated with the short stories we were supposed to read.
Our final milestone was called ‘Common Lit connections’ in this milestone, we had to connect our letter with one of the common lit stories we read, with that we also had to write a minimum of three paragraphs on why we thought so.

Now, onto the competencies!!!
I think I did an accomplished job at all of the competencies. One good example would be: when I was writing my letter, I made sure to keep things straight to the point, provide evidence and reasoning, I also recognized the role of context and perspectives that were in my letter. I also made sure to follow steps in revision as wished.
