MTV Changed The World? Yeah Right

This unit focus, that we based our projects on, was CRAY CRAY YAY YAY! It really means we chose a topic, and we had to explain how they were “the crazy ones; the round peg in a square hole”.

For this project, my group and I constructed a short documentary movie, all about the growth and development of “The Music Video”, and how it was affected by “MTV: Music Television”.

We went on a school trip to Seattle to capture our camera shots at the “Spectacle” exhibit, in the EMP museum. Then we used the app, iMovie, to patch together and edit the clips into a movie. We used voice overs, and still pictures to help make it seem like a real documentary.

You’re probably wondering how MTV was crazy, or how it changed the world. Well, MTV was “different” because it started to broadcast music videos on TV all day long; something that had never really been done before. MTV was a risk, but it played a humungous part in revolutionizing “the music video”. See for yourself… Click below to watch our movie!

The Curious Tale Of The Dottabear

During the Frankenstuffie movie project I learned how to make my iMovie more interesting, by adding different filters, speeds, and sound pitches to the scenes.

My movie included the use of science to “create” my Frankenstuffie. The scientist in my film added different DNA’s of animals together, therefore, resulting in the “Dottabear”.

Here is the link to my Dottabear iMovie on Youtube:

The Industrial Revolution played a part in my project. Thanks to the Industrial Revolution, scientists ventured out and invented different machines and tools that made the creation of Frankenstuffies “possible”.

If I were to redo this project and change it somehow, I would maybe use some different animals to construct my Frankenstuffie from, because to me they seemed a little dull. Also I would have done a bit more moving animation or used the green screen, for different effects. But overall, considering the amount of time we had to finish this project, I am proud of my result.
