Music!

Today I’m going to be talking about my favourite music!
Starting off my favourite genre of music has changed pretty drastically over some time but right know i like jazz, smooth jazz, disco(sometimes) and pop. One of the band that i like to listen to is Heatwave. Heatwave originated in 1975 but the bands mainstream came only one year after in 1976. The founding member, Johnnie wilder, was in the US army as a serviceman in west Germany where he began performing until he’s was discharged and started to sign in night clubs and taverns with other bands while still enlisted. After a while he moved to the uk and the band started to form when linked up with keyboardist Rod Temperton after seeing his add in the paper. Over time the band grew with Johnnie wilder brother, Keith wilder. After signing their first contract with GTO Records in 1976. The band was paired with guitarist Barry blues and rhythm guitarist Jesse whitten. Jesse whitten was replaced with rhythm guitarist Roy carter after a stabbing incident. The band went on to creating there first album Too Hot To Handle in the fall of 1976. Their third single Boogie nights in 1977 was No.2 on the British popular music charts in January and in America in November. Continuing to use Barry Blue’s production skills, Heatwave released their second album Central Heating in April 1978. Since there was a lot of history for this band i am not going to write about it all but you can read the Heat Wave Wikipedia page here!

Moving on to another topic about a central instrument in jazz, the saxophone. The saxophone originated in Belgium and was invented by Adolphe sax on 28th June 1846.
Here is a video about all the different types of saxophones and the music and solos the instrument had and was in!

Emoji story.

Ah emojis. Tiny picture we use to revamp🎉 and upgrade⬆️ our words to help with understanding🤔, emphasis🤯 or just for fun🐷. But, can they tell a story📜?
I created a story based off of these emojis, which I am pretty proud of🤗. As you can see I put the emojis throughout the story to show you where I used the story emojis.
Without further ado Here is my story!

🐥
Once upon a time there was a chick. He was a very small chick and he didn’t like to be small. No one made fun of him, he just thought it was scary when the other big chickens are running around and they might squish him.
🚿
One day he got sick and tired of being small so he decided to try something. He herd about how Material can absorb moisture and he thought ”hey, Im kinda fluffy, i can absorb moisture and grow!” So he took a shower and sat in the water for a long time till he felt like he’s been in there long enough so he gets out and dry himself off and look in the mirror but when he looks he sees no changes in his height.
🎸
In his sadness he go’s to the top of his chicken coop with his guitar and starts to pluck a sad song. He doesn’t Sing to his music because he can’t sing so he keeps sadly plating the guitar.
🙋🏽‍♀️
the farmer that keeps the crops (and just has the chickens as pets) comes over and asks him “hey, why are you so sad?” And he says “I’m to small so i might get squished and i don’t want to get squished, i feel that that’s a very bad way to die.” “Your not going to get squished to death” she says “you don’t know that, I’m so small i could.” he says with a small amount of anger “ok, fine, you are small but its ok, your going to grow up and then you wont be scared of being squished. You just need to have patience.” She says while petting his head “ok” he says with a sigh.
😮
a dramatic gasp comes from the farmer “*GASP*, i have they best idea i can sing to your guitar playing too all the chickens about not running around you so you wont get squished!” “Yes, that’s a perfect idea!”
🎼
After that they got all the chickens rounded up and they played they played a song that they latter called “Please Don’t Squish Me With Your Big Feet”.
THE END.

Fun with photos.

Something that has impacted my worldview the most is my values. My values are my family my friends my cat (of course), my home and security and where I live. Where I live is a big part of my values because in Vancouver and deep cove I live with free health care, I get to go to school  , I live in a place a can feel safe, and I also value the nature like the forest and the sea I live near. This is a drawing of a picture that I made of a view from deep cove that I think represents the nature and the more densely populated places in Vancouver That you can see in the background.

These are the steps I took to make this picture:
1. I picked a picture of internet or you could pick one you already have.
2. I put the picture in to sketch’s pro.
3. I matched a central colour in a key Characteristic of the photo outline it then I colour it in.
4. After that’s all done you can details like how I did the shadows on the water from the dock.
5. And your done!

See you next time.

Rules by Cynthia lord.

Rules was given to me by my librarian at my elementary school. She gave it to me during the first times of Covid-19 just when classes were starting up again. She gave me a couple books but rules caught my attention.this is going to be kind of like me explaining the book. Oh right, just a warning if you haven’t read the book and you are or your going to there’s going to be spoilers in this so ⚠️SPOILER ALERTS⚠️.

Rules by Cynthia lord

In the starting of the book it explains about Catherine, a 12-year-old girl with a brother that has  autism. The book takes place in the summer and theres a girl the same age as Catherine moving in next door. To help her brother with social  situations she makes a set of rules to remind him not to do things to help him like don’t take your pants off in public or no toys in the fish tank. David, her brother, goes to occupational therapy or OT. Here is a video explaining how an OT can help kids!

the story goes on to explain how at the OT’s Catherine usually likes to draw so starts to draw a a boy in a wheelchair in the waiting room near her. Jason the, boys name, is unable to walk or talk so he points to cards with different expressions and word to communicate.

A little later in the book Catherine makes more cards for him saying more expressive words or him to use.

After a while they became friends but she doesn’t want her new friend Kristi, the girl next door, to know she’s friends with him.

Throughout the book theres a community dance coming up and in the end she invites Jason to come with her to the dance because she realizes that her true friend is Jason and she doesn’t care what other people think. I did skip allot so here is a Wikipedia page explaining the book. This was a really good book for me and even though I’ve basically explained it I hope you read it to find your own view on it and if you like this book here is some more books by Cynthia lord!
