Hey ~ welcome back 2 the blog :)))) It’s week 3! I know in both other posts I’ve said the weeks were chaotic, but this week was a whole other level! We had big milestones to finish, and not the most time to do them, mostly our script for the podcast, which was a pretty interesting time during both the writing/recording. Still! It was a really fun + interesting week with a lot more hands on learning and not so much in the textbook. Which was a change, but not a bad one!
I think this week I had quite a realization. I’ve been using text features all wrong. If you don’t remember in my very first weekly blog post I said I wanted to use this project to get better at writing notes, and I think I have been doing that by using new methods and trying new things. But this week Ms. Maxwell made me realize I’ve been completely neglecting the use of text features, and apparently it’s truly a tragedy. If you don’t know what text features are, here’s the briefest of explanations. Text features are features like bolding, italics, underlines, images, and other things you can use to enhance your text, to make it easier to read and understand. But I’ve never really used these things. My notes are just a page with a couple dashes, nothing to differentiate sections from another section, yet again, tragedy. But I will definitely be trying to change this.
Going on I want to use text features a lot better but not just in my notes I think it could be really beneficial to the blog too. I think the more features are definitely more interesting, because I’m really trying to not to write an essay here. This blog has the advantage of being digital, meaning my toolbox is a lot bigger, and I’m definitely not taking advantage of that. And I’ve probably got to do some research into WordPress’s features. And lest we forget, in the future I’ll still need better notes for when I actually have to study for tests, and it would be nice to actually know where my headers are. So that’s definitely this week’s goal, but I will continue to be working on this skill past this week, because I think it’s a really valuable tool to have in my pocket.
Well I think that’s the gist of it,
So thanks for checking out my blog!
Holly :))
