My Mpol post

Hi! This is my Mpol post. In this blog post we will be discussing: my strengths, weaknesses, projects or things I learned about that I found interesting and boring, and so much more. But let’s start with the declaration

“Thank you for coming to my presentation of learning. I am the expert on my own learning. I am also responsible and accountable for my own learning. You can expect me to give an honest evaluation of my progress. We will discuss my strengths and opportunities for growth. Thank you in advance for listening and for offering feedback that I can use to improve as a learner.”

things I liked learning about and things I found boring
I really liked coding because I found learning How to code interesting, and I also really enjoyed coming up with a concept for my game! Although it sadly deleted. But something I didn’t really like was learning about the renaissance/medieval because we didn’t learn about the stuff I was interested in from that time and I also found it really stressful.

Some of my strengths that helped me do my homework when it was stressful were my fast typing skills as well as my creativity.

some of my weaknesses that made work more stressful was my trouble getting on task, trouble with focusing, and being a perfectionist. Something I can do to help is finding strategies to focus like using a fidget, and something to help with my perfectionism is reminding myself that things don’t always need to be perfect.

I feel like I failed this year because I didn’t finish/put enough effort in that I could’ve if I decided to try to be a little more invested in my work.

A project that I’m least proud of is my artwork starring you because I kind of rushed it and didn’t do it well. A project I’mmost proud of is maybe the song project because I tried really hard to help with this project.

Power play portfolio post

Hello! Have you ever wondered what it was like living in medieval times? I haven’t until in our class we started learning about medieval Europe! The first thing we did was read a book called book of the lion. After reading a few chapters, we were put into groups, and had to fill out different assignments and then share them with our group. Another thing that we learned about was the feudal system. The feudal system is a hierarchy system. At the bottom were the peasants who worked for the land owners, which were the nobles. The middle class were knights And military service. The higher class were lady’s and nobles which were vassals to the king, and the highest class was the king himself who owned everything in the land. The next assignment we worked on was called art chart: the art chart was an assignment where we would have a worldview like education, and you would have to choose the best paintings for that worldview, why it’s the best painting worldview, and how it connects to our worldview now.
But what is worldview?
worldview is the way view the world and what it is.       Everything you do and say can effect your worldview.

our last assignment was an assignment called artwork starring YOU! In this assignment we had to choose a painting from our art chart, and put our face in the painting. For this assignment we had to edit, and cut.

driving question:

our driving question is: what can we learn from the past and how can we apply it today?

To start this off hierarchy still exists. Just not in the exact way. Then it was based on your job. So let’s say you were lower class in medieval times, but you were super rich, you would still be lower class. But now let’s say your a barista at Starbucks but you have millions of dollars: you would be high class because you have money.

that is what I have learned through this project.

Interesting facts about horror movies

I love horror movies because they are spine chilling stories that keep me at night and entertain me a lot. Here I will explain super interesting facts about horror movies you didn’t know

Number 1. Did you know that the doll from the conjuring was actually based on a doll called “raggedy Ann” it was made out of hood and had huge eyes.

Number 2. Did you know a bunch of movies was based upon ONE serial killer? His name was Ed Gein he inspired some very famous horror movies like: Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Pyscho, Silence of the lambs, etc.

Number 3. There was a horror movie called “Blair witch project” which they filmed like a documentary. Based on how they marketed the film, people actually thought it was a documentary making you think that it was real. Apparently one of the actors got a lot of sympathy cards for family.

Number 4. In the movie “poltergeist” there was a scene where they used a REAL skeleton without the actors knowing in one of the scenes.

Number 5. In the movie “candyman” there was scene where there was a bunch of scenes in the candymans mouth. But what a lot of people don’t know is that the bees in candymans mouth were REAL. There were apparently over 200 thousand bees on set, and for every sting he got he got 1000 dollars. In the end he got 23 stings leading up to 23 thousand dollars.

Number 6. In the horror movie “the birds” there was a scene where Tippi Hedren was getting attacked by birds. But the birds were REAL and she was basically being tortured.

Number 7. In the movie “poltergeist” there was a scene where a little boy was being strangled by a clown. But what a lot of people don’t know is that the machine malfunctioned and actually started strangling the actor, apparently the actor screamed he couldn’t breathe but people just though he was improvising his own line, but realized he wasn’t acting when his face started to change colour.

Those are some really cool facts that you probably didn’t know! I hope you found the fun facts that I found fascinating. Thanks for reading.
