Portfolio Reflection

This year in flight I have found a new angle at which to approach my education. Learning has been fun this year making it easy for me to put effort into my work. Upon putting effort into my assignments I received a mark I was proud of, but am excited to improve in the following terms. Under the category of effort is study habits. This year my study habits could be improved. Though I often study for any upcoming tests and quizzes, I could study whatever topic we are currently working on, on a regular basis.
Throughout the first term I have shown strengths and weaknesses as a learner. Some of my strengths include: Demonstrating good listening, curiosity, focus, and creativity. Being on task, and outgoing during group participation.
My main challenge I have to overcome on a daily basis is staying on task for an hour and twenty minutes at a time. I am on task most of that time but the few minutes that I’m not, show one of the ways I can improve my grade.
One of my favourite things about flight is the learning environment that comes with it. Because you see the same people everyday in class instead of every second, there is class time to do a lot of group projects.

Some of my strengths include: Being open to new ideas, giving support to classmates, giving up my own ideas, and listening to others. Some challenges I face are: Hesitating to share ideas with the class, and losing some focus if I’m with my friends.
I have grown in the flight classroom as a young adult this year by taking more responsibility for my learning and taking charge of my education. In the past, teachers have always told us what to do and how to it. This year in flight I had to make many of my own decisions on how I would represent my learning and it really helped me grow as a student and realize what I am capable of on my own.
