Despite fighting for the same cause, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr had disagreements over how the civil rights movement should be conducted. MLK was inspired by Ghandis peaceful movement and protests, and Malcolm X famously declared that civil rights should be achieved by “any means necessary”. Griffin, Harry and I added a modern twist to this conflict by creating the rap battle: Malcolm X vs. MLK. The video and our rapping prove that we won’t be signed by a label anytime soon but the lyrics we wrote are golden. Just like the real conflict Malcolm X goes first in a very confrontational attacking verse, MLK then counters in a more defensive and laid back way.
