For this years winter exhibition we did one of my favourite projects this year and possibly my favourite exhibition project of all time. On our final part of how do crazy people change the world or whatever the thesis was by that point we needed to present a seven minute long unscripted presentation.

Pechakuchas are presentations that use 20 slides that show for 20 seconds each before auto playing to the next slide. They are normally unscripted with the person presenting needing to know what they’re talking about in order to be successful and they can get points across in a very conversational manner.

We had quite a bit of time to prepare our slides for the December presentation and most of the points should be about something we saw or did in Seattle to answer “Why does it Take a Crazy Person to Change the World”.

Not much happened leading up to the exhibition other than preparing for the actual exhibit so there isn’t much I can put here. I did end up drastically changing my presentation on the night of the exhibition because I thought that a few lines would sound way better and I’m quite happy with the final result. It also became a lot less scripted with each draft as I couldn’t remember everything like some othe people in my class.

Im going to go into more detail about what I said and our main question but first I’d like to actually show you my presentation so that you can get a better understanding of what I’m actually talking about.

I’m pretty much trying to convey that the only different between us and successful people is drive and that drive comes from passion. So if you do something you’re passionate about you’ll have the drive to do just as well. The crazy people I was referring to were the people who are able to pursue and achieve their visions for what they think will benefit the world despite criticism and setbacks

My examples were Jeff Bezos and Amazon, Bill Gates and Microsoft and, Elon Musk and his many companies. All of these people represent my thesis statement as they are people who had different ideas that they were criticized for but rose to the top because they had the drive to do so.

I really enjoyed presenting as I got to speak in front of quite a few people and it did get a pretty big weight off of my shoulders.
