For this twil topic I decided to write a sort of diary entry from the perspective of the nurse. This diary entry explains why she took three hours to come back to Juliet with news instead of 30 minutes. Enjoy!
Dear diary,
My lady Juliet sent me out as soon as I saw her in the first of light. She told me to find a boy named Romeo Montague. I heard this name come out of Juliet’s mouth only once before so I suppose you can say I was a bit more than surprised to find that this Romeo was to be betrothed to her. She told me to go out and find this family blood rival and tell him more about the marriage. I must say I was over all shocked at the suddenness of this action and decided to take my time delivering the news and reporting back to my darling Juliet who was bouncing off the walls with excitement.
So, deciding to keep everyone in the dark for as long as possible as to let the children think about what they were actually doing before writing it in stone, I took the long way around to the market (which took about 30 minutes) where I found the Montague boy playing with his friends. I decided to do some errands before talking to him which consisted of buying bread, cheese, apples, and some milk (this took another 30 minutes) then I talked to Romeo about the arrangements.
While I was trying to talk to him, a few of his more boisterous friends started getting extremely ‘cheeky’ to say the least and I admit I almost blew my top! The rudeness that I had to deal with was alarming at any rate and to think of it now is enough to make me scream! Any way, I told Romeo everything that Juliet told me to say and once I was done talking, he told me to set up a rope ladder under Juliet’s window! Oh my, my! What a scandal! And I was right in the middle of it! At any rate, when we were done talking, about 15 minutes had passed and I knew Juliet would be bursting at the seams waiting to hear what news I had but I decided it would be somewhat amusing to keep her in the dark for just a little longer plus, I kind of wanted her to stay young a while more. I went to church, then took a leisurely stroll through the park. And I suppose that’s it. Until next time!
