Hello everyone welcome back to my blog today I’m going to be talking about take your kid to work day and the video I made about my day . On Wednesday I went to work with my dad who is a realtor I got to be around a lot of cool people that are part in selling different types of homes including a bank appraiser, an interior designer and a photographer .

How my day went.

During the day I got to visit to two different types of homes walk-through a  interior designers warehouse and hang out back at my dads office. At the beginning of the day my dad and I headed to one of his first appointments of the day, he had to take some photos with the photographer Of a condo that he has for sale at the Hollyburn. There I got to check out the condo as well as see how the photographer took images and how my dad prepared a placed to be sold. Next we visited another one of my dads listings. This house belongs to some of my dads old friends who are moving to deep cove from further out in north van. When we got to the house we met a bank appraiser, who would determine the worth of the house. We were let inside, my dad showed the bank appraiser around. Making sure he knew all the details about the house so that he could establish a good price. After the appraiser finished collecting data I was able to ask him and my dad some questions about their jobs. After the interviews we had to hurry because my dad had to show the house right afterward. So after the appraiser left, quickly another  realtor an her clients came to check out the house. My dad did as he did with the appraiser and showed them around making sure they knew about everything the house had to offer. After the clients left my dad and I headed to go visit Sally. Sally is a good friend of my dads but she also an amazing interior designer that decorates houses my dad has on the market. My dad had to give her the keys to the Holly burn condo, because she was going to decorate it the next day. While we were visiting Sally’s warehouse. I was luck enough to get a tour but also an interview. After visiting with sally and dropping of the keys. My dad and I were ready to head home for the day.

What I learned from take your kid to work day.

This day really helped me understand what my dad does, as well as who is a part of the process of selling a house. I also learned how important my dads work is to the community and what he does to make some steps in life easier and more efficient for many people. Take your kid to work day also inspired me to think more about the future and has got me thinking about what kind of role I want to play in society and the community  when I’m older.

Soon after take your kid to work day it was time for me to start editing. After a wonderful day of learning about the selling of homes and everyone who is a part of making it a reality I was able to create my video, here it is.

Video reflection.

I think my video went really well, I’m pretty proud of video and think it turned out just how I imagined it would. Besides some issues with inconsistent audio the making of my video went really smoothly. Making this video helped me a lot with my video skills because of the extra practice on iMovie and other apps such as keynote (what I used for title pages). Making this video also helped me review what I learned on take your kid to work day. Hope you enjoyed my video, Kaia
