This short clip describes different things and memories that have built the person I am today. They are all quite meaningful and significant to my growth as a person. They provided me with a better mindset, but also show what kind of a person I am and who I strive to be in the future.
The first thing I put in my head was a forest. The forest has harboured many significant memories for me, like going camping with my family, hiking with my friends, and trekking through the bush picking berries when I was little. The forest was always my happy place. A place where I could go and relax, where all my worries seemed to disappear. It has been the setting of many of my pleasant memories, so I thought it would only be fitting that give it a spot on my about me page. Although the forest is quite significant, so is the placement of it. The reason why it is placed near the top of my head on the template, is because the forest is always on my mind. And what better way to show this than to place it where your brain is, on the top.
Along with the forest, I also placed an ocean on my page. Quite like the forest, the ocean is a place where I can get away from the business of life. The ocean is where I shared many bonding moments with the people that are now my greatest of friends. The memories we made when we went swimming in the summer, were quite possibly some of the best I’ve ever had. It may seem cheesy, but in a way the ocean brought me closer with the people that I now consider a part of my family, even when we aren’t actually related. And just like the forest, the placement of the ocean also has meaning. It is placed on my hair, because when the summer ends and the waters are no longer warm enough to swim in, the dryness of my hair from the saltwater is all that remains of the amazing times I had in the ocean. Dry hair is a small price to pay for such great times that I will remember forever.
On my page there are two things that represent my traveling experiences. There is a plane, and a world globe. These symbolize the memories I made during my travels. I have gone to quite a few places such as Greece and Ireland, and made countless memories that I will remember for as long as I live. Many of the the things I did were things that I will probably never get the chance to do again, like taking a rowboat out into the man made lake at the Palace de Versailles in Paris, or getting licked by a wolf at the Northern lights wolf Center in Calgary. All these memories have helped shape my worldview and educate me, not just on different cultures, but on the ways of living of people and creatures around the world. These one of a kind experiences gained easy access to a spot on my about me page because of the massive impact that they had on me. All the different people I met had a different lifestyle, a different worldview if you will. The placement of both the plane symbol and the word globe are both a bit all over the place, but that was supposed to show how all of the places that I have been to were pretty much all over the place as well
The very last thing I will talk about are the music notes and the painting. They show my love for arts and how it has heavily impacted my life. I use music and art to express myself, and it has been a huge part of my life for quite some time. The placement of the music notes make it look like they are coming out of my mouth, as if I were singing a song. I have loved singing for as long as I can remember, I can’t imagine a life without it. When I’m singing, the music is the only thing on my mind, it seems to have a calming effect on me. When I am feeling upset or sad, sometimes singing and listening to music are the only things that can change the way I feel. It’s almost the same when I’m drawing. I go into a state of euphoria where all my troubles seem so small, and my focus is being devoted to getting the shading on my picture just right, or the lines dark enough, or the colours bold enough. I also get a similar feeling when listening to my favourite song, almost as if my mood switches to match the feeling of the music. For example, if I’m listening to a sad song, I will feel a little bit sad, or pumped up if I’m listening to a really upbeat song. I can’t even count all of the times that the arts have helped me focus, with school work, helping me sort out my problems, letting me see things from a different perspective, or just making me feel good overall.
Now you know a bit more about the kind of person I am, I hope that you can maybe connect with some of my examples and remember them when you go about your daily lives. This has been my about me page, I hope you’ve enjoyed.
