One out of two SLC’s is now officially underway. As you may already know from previous student lead conferences, we talk about three things. Something we’re most proud of, something that shows growth as a student and finally what from this year shows growth mindset.
I want to start off with what I’ve learned this year and how ive grown as a student as I feel this has happened the most recently, Destination Imagination, mainly our improv challenge. Then there’s one thing I also learned this year that isn’t necessarily from a project, how important a positive mindset is in order for projects to have a better finished project and overall enjoyment of the project.
As for growth mindset, I’ve decided that Destination Imagination best represents this again. I knew nothing about the challenge we were given so I instantly started complaining but decided that I should take it upon myself to find a way to turn it into an oppurtunity to learn a new skill and maybe find a new passion for acting.
As for what I’m most proud of there’s one project which we have to go back to October for, the railroad visual essay. The amount of time and effort that went into this project for me was a big amount. The difference between the drafts is crazy and even the audio took a lot of work. I was also able to finally to learn how to full u se explain everything. There is another thing however that I’m extremely proud of, my improvement on being able to balance out my sports, academics and school contributions, both academic and athletic. It’s not quite a perefect balance quite yet but I’m on my way.
Finally, the three goals for the rest of the school, we’ll reflect on these at the end of the term, like all PLP work. Finally finding a way to completely balance out my schedule is at the top of my list becauase this will help my other two along, which happen to be which happen to be making sure to get my school work done as soon as possible and finishing catch-up work faster giving myself more time to revise before the due date other than taking extra time and making the assignment late. Lastly I want to go into every project with a positive mind set and attitude as to not give myself a false impression of the task at hand and even it’s something I am absolutely not in to then I’m going to make myself find a way to spin it or study it in a way that I find interesting while still performing the challenge in front of me.
