Duel ends in a Tragedy

The Capulets and the Montague’s have shocked the citizens of verona, as their conflicts took to the streets, which left Tybalt Capulet and Mercutio Escalus dead, and Romeo Montague banished.

In an interview, Benvolio Montague, an eye witness, says that Tybalt began the fight. He had always wanted to fight Romeo. But Romeo refused, so Mercutio took his place in the battle because he believed it would gain him honour.

This duel ensured that Mercutio Escalus of the Montague family dies. Romeo became furious and felt a sense of pride to avenge Mercutio’s death as he goes after Tybalt. Tybalt is slain by Romeo.

The prince hears of the bloodshed and claims that Romeo is banished. The prince was quoted saying “Romeo will be banished from Verona forever, and never allowed back in the city again”.

Both Households of Montague and capulets are reported to be mourning and threatening justice. Could death bring out something worse? Could there be another bloodshed between the two kings and the prince?
