This is a quote by Jay Z that represents me.(You can learn more about Jay Z here)Generally I’m pretty chill to be around……. as long as you are chill with me. If someone doesn’t treat me right I wouldn’t be cool with them. This is one of our many school projects that we do in PLP. I got one of my friends to take a picture of me holding my bike up and I traced it using an app called Sketches pro. For the music, I used Garage band. In Garage band, I made a beat first, then I started to add a melody, finally I added a second instrument to make the song sound more complex. It actually took me a while to make because I had to make a song that fit my quote in the video well.
I traced this photo with this quote because I’m trying to mirror the gigantic landscape around me. I ride my bike on the mountains in the photo, so nature is cool with me so I’m cool with it. It also represents me because where I live impacts the people I hang out with, what I do such as snowboarding in the winter and mountain biking when it’s not snowing, kayaking, swimming, etc.
The background was hard to trace because the camera mostly focused on me. Sketches pro is an interesting app because you can get fine lines and blend colours together. I tried to get it as close to my hoodie in the photo as possible by using the water color brush in the app and blending tool.
After I finished drawing, I used the app Canva to add the quotes onto the photo. The final part of the project was to stitch everything together, the quote, the picture, and the music. I did this with the help of iMovie on the iPad.
This blog is like an exhibition of what the PLP class does in school. PLP is a project based program that incorporates technology into the learning and we also go on field studies. Outside of school, I like to bike and I box? or do boxing? You can’t really say I play boxing… I’m from Vancouver which is the best place in the world and I go to Seycove secondary school.
