As I mentioned in my About Me Page, I love acting. That’s why, when we were given the task of creating a video about a live event, I chose a play rehearsal. The play was The Farndale Avenue Housing Estates Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s Production of ‘A Christmas Carol.’ A long title, I know. It’s about a small dramatic society putting on a play that they can’t really handle. However, I wasn’t acting in this play, but working backstage. Do you want to know who was acting in this play? My dad! He played Gordon Pugh, a stage manager who played several roles in the pretend play. I interviewed him during the rehearsal, while he was in-character as Gordon.
To create the video, I first got everyone’s permission to appear in it, before just setting up my iPad and running a constant video of the rehearsal. I took time-lapses and slow-motion shots, and I made sure to get a shot of each character in action. It took some time and effort, but was it worth it!
I really enjoyed making this video, mostly because I really enjoyed what I was filming.
