This is Halloween

Every Halloween, I try my best to have a good costume that will make someone say. ‘Wow!’. This year, I picked the log lady from Twin Peaks.

I used a log pillow instead of an actual log (of course). Only 5 people got the costume, out of an entire school, play production, and multiple neighbourhoods. That’s fine. In past years, I was a ghostbuster, a lego figure, a goddess, and Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter. Not everyone understood.

My family’s pumpkins were… creative. I poked a bunch of holes in mine and hung it from the ceiling, to make a disco ball. My sister carved a pumpkin into one and carved ‘Happy 3rd Bday Ben’ into another. We don’t know anyone 3-year-olds named Ben. My dad’s pumpkins, on the other hand, were an advertisement for the next Christmas Pantomime- the Grand Old Duke of York.

In school, I showed off my costume on the catwalk, and created a horror movie trailer, based on our costumes. 0812E254-442A-4A04-9A4E-226E241396FD-2ckmfud
