Goals are the fuel in the furnace of achievement.

Winter Exibition 2018

This year we did our exhibition differently than we have done in the past. We had limited time, but a large amount of knowledge to pull from. Previously, we usually learn new skills and focus on new topics. The winter exhibition is meant to show our parents what we have learned throughout this term. Although, its mostly reflected in our ability to learn instead of what we previously learned.

This year there were many Pros and Cons not only leading up to the exhibition, but also during the exhibition. One of the main helpful elements of the winter exhibition, was the fact that we had a lot of resources to pull from. We had already studied our topic for two months, created multiple essays, and even completed one project reflection video. This made it easier to answer some of the main questions we need to answer.

A brief explanation for our project would be a paragraph, but luckily I have already written a multiple paragraph BLOG POST on the research and outcomes of our Seattle field school. When we came back from the one week trip we only had a week to create something for our winter exhibition.

This was one week less than all the other grades had, and by our three day deadline one week sure sounded sweet. The project for our exhibition, was to crate a PechaKucha outlining our inquiry question, how do “crazy” people change the world.

Editing my photos took more time and effort than I had planed for. This was one of the first obsicles I faced when creating my PechaKucha.

I felt that this project gave us the most creative freedom when it came to presentation. This might be a little confusing since we had a set presentation method, but let me explain. Once we created our keynote PechaKucha we could say literally anything as long as it had to do with our inquiry question and used an example from our Seattle trip. This gave me room to answer the question the way I actually wanted to. Instead of perpetuating what the teachers wanted me to say I was able to put emphasis to the fact that not all people that have changed the would have been crazy.

That to be crazy you didn’t have to come from a mental hospital, but that you just needed to bring your actions, ideas, and characteristics to a level that could extreme. During the exhibition I focused on practicing my PechaKucha, and when my time came time to present I felt comfortably confident. My presentation went better that I ever expected, ending with a fist bump from my teacher. Thank you Ms. Maxwell.

Here are the slides in my PechaKucha, keep in mid that they are switching 18 seconds faster than thay did on presentation day.
