Frankensuffie Fun

Since we got back from our Calgary trip we have been working on a new project. Project Frankensuffie. This project is meant to explain the matter cycles and evolution of creatures. Here is the basis of the project, our task for this project was to create an interesting short film that illustrates the adaptation of our Frankenstuffie to the environmental change introduced to our assigned physiographic region. My group containing Me, Kailey, and Alivia was assigned a certain region in Canada, our group was assigned the interior plains.

Our vid has to include a stuffy of an animal that lives in the region and its reaction and changes to a certain change in the environment. The matter cycle I included in my video was the water cycle and I somehow was able to make a connection between the water cycle and the change in the environment.

The change in the environment I chose was littering and how instead of recycling our plastic and littering instead, it is causing the world to become more polluted. This pollution connects to the water cycle because the warmer climate interrupts the water cycle by drying up lakes, making it rain less and making the ice caps melt.

For my video I chose for my stuffy to be a wolf, since wolves live in the interior planes and they are very well known and easy to tell a story with it seemed like a wolf was the obvious choice.

First we started with a written out version of the story, split into six sections. Our story needed to have a beginning, a rising action, a climax, and a proper ending. Our video needed to include water cycle, and an evident problem in the environment that would cause our Frankensuffie to change physically. After days of critique of our story we then translated it into a script.

after we finished the script we looked at it from a cinematic point and turned it into a storyboard. After we got people to critique our storyboard we started filming. We got out a huge green screen and finally got to put our Green Screen app to work! Ive never used a green screen before but trying it out was really fun. Since I was on my New York trip with my mom (More on that in a new post coming soon) I missed a lot of the filming time. Since I was running low on time I chose to turn images of my stuffy into .png fines using Superimpose and then animate them into its desired environment using Explain Everything.

To edit the video I used iMovie and added the voiceover. After many situations of iMovie crashing and other glitches I finally finished the video!
