Just recently in humanities we finished a short and sweet assignment. The basis of this assignment was to chose an influential person that was thought of as “crazy” but ended up changing the world.
We were given a list of around 20 different famous people who changed the world and asked to chose one person from that list and create a keynote about that person with evidence supporting the main inquiry question “How was this person thought of as crazy and how did they change the world?”.
I decided to choose Muhammad Ali, Mostly because the majority of the other people were taken. After I picked my person I started to work on research and started taking notes.
Once I felt like I had gathered enough information I started forming my script and keynote.
I chose very powerful and iconic images of Muhammad so that the audience would keep watching when I was presenting, I also tried to write fancy words so that the audience would remember what I was saying.
I wrote up my thesis which would guide my whole script/presentation:
“Mohammad Ali was thought of as crazy because of his inhuman determination to become the best boxer in the world. He inspired millions to peruse their dreams no matter what.”
Once Ms. Maxwell critiqued my script I knew I was ready for my presentation.
After I presented I felt like it went really smoothly and I think I did really well on it. I put a lot of thought into the script, photos, and the overall energy of the presentation.
I cant remember the last time I have done a live presentation, this assignment was a reminder to myself that I am really good presenting in front of people. Hopefully we can do another live presentation project in the near future!
