Recently in Maker we have started working on music production. In particular, apple loops. Apple loops is a software within garage band that allows you to create your own songs through pre-made audio snippets. You can stack layers of audio or keep it simple, it was up to us.

Our first assignment for our introduction into creating our own pieces of music was to create a short song using apple loops. For this project I decided to make my own loops using the keyboard and live recording feature on GarageBand and then looping that recording and stacking more layers to create my piece.

What made my song stand out in front of all of my classmates was the fact that all of my loops were original and not pre-made.

To sum up this assignment, I wouldn’t say I learned much from it. Mostly because of my previous experience with music production software and in particular, GarageBand. Although, I can definitely say that most of my classmates learned a lot from this assignment.
