Recently ago, our class was tasked to read James Clear’s book, Atomic Habits. As I’ve probably said before, when reading this I felt very weird and almost shocked about what it was reading because earlier in the year I decided I wanted to change my daily habits so that I could improve and change myself into a more productive, organized, and motivated person. This book was perfect for me and just what I was looking for, my only complaint is that the copy we were given was digital and I have a lot of trouble reading off of a screen but that doesn’t really matter.
Today I’m going to be answering this project’s driving question; “How does balance within my life create opportunities?” by using my knowledge from the 7 Habits by Sean Covey, Atomic Habits by James Clear, and the Positive Brain Training we did earlier this project.
Before I get into answering the driving question, let me explain what I mean by “Positive Brain Training”.
As we started PGP (Careers), we stated learning about methods/practises that help create happiness. We watched a TED talk where we saw Sean Achor speak about his experience about happiness and his methods to work towards it. What we did was learn 5 different practises and then recorded each experience on a daily note in craft. Each day was a different practice and it looked like this: Monday – Meditation 🧘♂️, Tuesday – Random act of kindness 🏅, Wednesday – Exercise 🏃, Thursday – Journaling ✍️, Friday – Gratitude 🙏. We continued to take time everyday to turn these practises into habits and I found that I enjoyed taking the time to really reflect on myself.
It takes a lot of work, but finding balance in our lives is a process that is well worth the time. Balance can open up doors for us that we never knew were there by lowering stress, boosting productivity, and improving our general wellbeing.
Building a strong mental health and resilience is the main goal of the personal development strategy known as Positive Brain Training. The idea that our thoughts and beliefs significantly influence how our world is created and is one of the basic ideas of this strategy. We can create a more positive attitude on life by engaging in positive self-talk and acquiring a growth mindset.
This makes it noticeable that having a steady attitude is essential for creating a healthy mindset and focus in our life when we apply it to the idea of balance. We are less motivated to work towards balance if we think it is something we can’t achieve. But if we think that balance is possible, we may work towards it and make opportunities for ourselves.
Steven Covey’s book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is another well-liked method for personal growth. Covey stresses the significance of prioritising and properly managing our time. We may make more time for the things that are really important by prioritizing our needs and responsibilities.
This is very important for finding balance in our daily life. When we set priorities for our time, we have more time for self-care, time with family and friends, keeping up with our passions and hobbies, and other beneficial activities. By doing this, we can give ourselves the chance to live a more purposeful and balanced life.

James Clear’s book Atomic Habits also idolizes the value of taking small, regular, incremental steps towards personal improvement. Clear insists that by gradually adjusting our daily routines, we can make big improvements to our lives.
This strategy is especially useful for achieving balance. We can lead a more balanced life by making tiny adjustments to our daily routine, such as reserving more time to sleep, exercise, or meditation. These simple adjustments have the potential to significantly enhance our personal wellbeing, production, and pleasure over time.
In conclusion, balance is a crucial component of a well-rounded life. By including the principles of Positive Brain Training, the 7 Habits, and Atomic Habits in our lives, we can create opportunities for ourselves to enjoy a more fulfilling life. By focusing on our mindset, priorities, and habits, we can achieve balance and unlock our true self happiness.
Thanks for reading.
