Recently we have been learning about Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar.
In class we were assigned in groups to learn and make a body of a character in the Julius Caesar play. My group was Melanie, Jamie, Logan, Luca O, and me. My groups character was Marcus Junius Brutus the younger.
In a googles document we put many facts about Brutus. After that we got logan to be our body model and on a big blue piece of paper we traced him out. Luca had to make some adjustments on the body then we were ready to start putting facts on the body.
Everything we put on the body had a reason. Lets start from the
legs. One of the legs had armour on it. We did that to show that he was part of the military. On the other leg there was the Senatus Populus Que Romanus symbol aka SPQR we put this because he was a politician and that was the candidate he was in.
Moving upwards in his stomach and heart region. On his stomach we put a roman temple because he lived in one. In his hand facing the roman temple we put a sword. That is because he committed suicide. Now the shield over his heart with people behind it is because he believed in protecting his people. He was very loyal to his people. The family on his neck is because he loved his family and they were important in his life.
Going upwards to his arms and head. On each arm we did something about his life. The arm with the baby and numbers beside it is because he was born on the 23rd of October in 85 BCE. The other arm had a grave with the date of his death. Sadly he had committed suicide. On his head we put army helmet as he was part of the army.
Finally he is holding a knife in his left hand and a thought bubble of him killing Julius Caesar because he was in charge of the assassination of Julius Caesar.
