Recently in PLP, we’ve been learning all about fantasy. Along with an abundance of other projects, we also had to write an essay about Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. I chose to write my essay about how are we drawn to imaginary worlds and how does Alice’s adventure represent this. Furthermore, this essay was to be written in class, and we were given 40 minutes to complete it. Before the day of the essay, we were given the opportunity to write an essay outline with ideas.  Although we could not write any part of our essay down beforehand I took this as an opportunity to write as much as I could so that writing in class would be as easy as it could be.

This is what my essay outline looked like:

Writing an essay in class was much harder than writing at home, and as the 40 minutes ticked down I started to stress out, which caused my writing to become more sloppy.  After our first draft of the essay was done in class, we could take the rest home and fix it up to become a better draft 2. Here is mine:

I really think I have learned a lot since the beginning of the year about writing. I have learned how to plan and then write essays, I have learned how to write deep thought reflections, and I have learned a lot about making scripts for various video projects.

When our essays were marked we were given feedback on how we did.

I agree with everything my teacher Mr. Featherstone said, and I will take the newfound knowledge I have gained onward onto future writing assignments.

Thanks for reading my post!
