As summers coming to an end school has started back up, and to be honest it’s a bittersweet feeling. But I’m excited for this upcoming year.

For our first unit in humanities we are starting off with reading a novel .Our driving question for this unit is “ How do authors use text to teach us more about ourselves ?”. The novel I chose to read was Simon vs. the Homo sapiens agenda, It’s more commonly known for the movie Love, Simon. It’s about a closeted gay teen named Simon who has been anonymously emailing with another closeted teen, Blue. One day Simon accidentally leaves his email open and Marty, another student screenshots them. Marty threatens to expose the private emails that reveal that simon is gay unless Simon convinces his friend Abby to go out with him. The reason I chose this book was because i feel like i can relate to Simon and his struggles on some levels. I was also intrigued to find out what happens in the end. Even though I’m only on chapter 6 I already have a few predictions. Firstly I feel as if the character Bram is Blue because of all their similarity’s and some various coincidences.

For the first 6 chapters my group (Luca Kai Tamara Maggie .) and I filmed a short video on three important scenes, the first scene is simon emailing blue and then Marty see’s the private emails ! The second scene is simon nick Abby and Leah in the cafeteria. Lastly the third scene is blue replying to Simon’s email.

I’ve linked it below!
