During the past few weeks we have been working on recreating short Video’s in maker. The first recreation we did was a short comedy film called Catch by the YouTube channel funny or die
Our video overall was good but not amazing. We had missed the first scene and we didn’t include music as well a few camera angles were off. But what made our video good was the sound effects and editing. They were done well and to match the real video. Another thing was one costume was done well while the other needed improvement. A few things I feel that could’ve helped us in recreating the video are making a story board and planning it out and when to film and to use the mic’s. Here is the link to our Recreation:
Our second video was another short YouTube comedy film Called Empty fridge By: Caleb Miller EL
For this video we had more time and did more planning. We were able to film all the scenes and have it finished before the due date. Some improvements we could’ve made were a few small details in the film that we failed to put in ours ie. the note is on a neon pink sticky note but we used a yellow one. We also didn’t use the mic’s and that would’ve improved audio quality. Some good things we did were the costumes were very close to the original and the music and sou effects were spot on.the editing was also very alike to the original film. Our recreation:
Doing these recreations really helped us pay more attention to detail as we already had the the script and video. Since we had those already we were able to spend more time making sure we had all the little but important details to the film. And it was easier and less time consuming to put together a storyboard and screenplay as everything we needed was in the video.
