Time machine.

Today I am going to share my PGP Time Machine project. Before I start I want to say that this was a very fun project and I had a fun time doing it.

So about a month ago my teachers told me that I had to create an artifact that could supposedly help my past self. We had to use certain tools from things like goal setting books and other activities that we had previously done. I had a pretty good idea of what I thought I needed to do, so now the only thing left to do was decided what type of format to do. I could draw, write, act it out, use puppets, write a poem, but there was one idea that I had not tried before in my school work that I thought would be fun to do and more interesting to the audience.

That idea was a stop motion animation only using drawings. That meant that I would have to draw out all the pictures in order for them to be animated into a moving image. This task would much easier with the use of an app called Folioscope, which allowed me to draw and copy some of my drawing onto many panels all at once to make the process speed up a bit. This would definitely be a hard task that involved a lot of patience but I thought that this would be a great time to experiment with new ideas to make this video as great as possible. To go along with the stop motion I would add small things like intro senes using Imovie  and clips . These apps really helped me put all my ideas in one or two images and I think this helped my video become funnier, better job at communicating the idea, and shows I have a good understanding of my topic. Now that I had my format I would just have to get to it and see what happens.

My plan was to show my knowledge of some of the skills and ideas that I learned through the books I read and activities and group meetings that we had done in the last while. I would show my understanding through stop motion along with voice over. Since the point of this video was to help my past self, so I included the things I think would help me the most in the past, and to show that I put them all into pictures ( many, many pictures).

Then I just started working on the project day after day. It was actual fun to do and I did not see it as a task, and more as an activity that I look forward to. One problem that I had was patience, since every picture had to be done by me, that meant it takes a long time, a very long time, so at sometimes I got impatient with my work and went on to something else. I figured out that if I worked, and took short breaks, I could stay focused long enough to get what need to be done, done.

here is my final product.

This project was great for demonstrating my knowledge of each of these skills, but also allows me to share which was more helpful to me personally. I had a great time creating this final product.

That’s all for now.
