For week five I decided to create my own song and to do this I used garage band. This weeks task was something I had never done before so trying it out was different but cool at the same time, so here is what I did during week five.

First of all here is the song I created ( skip to 48 seconds).

To create this in garage band I used mostly the given instruments and some live loop grids as well. In the music there are a lot of synths, snares, base, and some extra things like risers, these things individually do not produce a very good sound, it would very plain music without combining these different sounds together. Although as you can probably already tell when put together they create a pretty cool sound, and a song once there is enough elements. I think the one thing I could have done better in this song was adding less of the fast tempo drums and added in some more melodies and things like that.

The music that I have created today is probably close to what I listen to as well, I find that the type of music you like to listen to is also the type that you would most likely make if given the correct tools. This would make sense in my music since I usually only listen to rap and stuff like that, although garage band does give you an excellent amount of options if you want to try and make something other than what you like to listen to. 

Recently I have been using garage band more often because of all the videos my class has been doing, and since a video isn’t usually complete without music, this gives me the opportunity to mess around with the app and create sound tracks for each video we do. Some elements that were in this song will probably go into one of the videos that my group and I make in the near future, so keep and eye and ear out for when that post comes out.

There is not much else I have to say in this post about the song other that I always have a lot of fun making these songs and other random beats as well, it is a good way to pass time but mostly so that my group has a unique sound to each video we make.
