At the end of grade grade nine Ms Willemse and Mr Hughes decided to drop a bomb on us and had the idea of the Blue Sky. This blue sky project was based off the Blue sky they host in America. Blue Sky is were you could be a artist engineer or a architect and showcase your wildest dreams in one huge exhibition. For the one we did back in grade nine we had three weeks too plan and to make what ever. Being as I was a ambitious grade nine and not the slowly breaking down grade ten I am at the moment I decided to make a ping pong table. It was a ambitious project I just got it all together at the showcase date it was great! So when we had to do the Star Wars Blue Sky Project i scaled it down a bit. At the beginning i knew what I was going to I was going to make the fictional game they play on the millennium falcon and turn it into a real game with a real rule-book.
It was hard at the beginning I just keeper watching the scene over and over again where they first introduced the game in the original series. It wasn’t giving me much information so I had to start at the beginning what are the characters what do they look like what’s their name. After I got all that the hard part started to begin, I had to make each character defence attack and movement slightly different then the last do some of the figures were not over powered or under powered. This was definitely the hardest part because if I mad character X attack 6, defence 8 and movement 4 I would have to make character Y attack 7, defence 5 and movement 5. So while creating this game it was a lot of trial and error. After getting all the characters attributes I had to test the game to see if it would actually work. This wasn’t to hard it was really just balancing the teams do it would not be unfair. I searched the internet to see if they had a name for the game they did it was called Holochess or Derjark. Dejark or Holochess is a very basic game.
At the very beginning randomly all 8 characters get separated. So each player has 4 characters. And the objective is to destroy all of your opponents character before they can destroy yours. Your character has to be 1 block in front of the enemy. So based on the movement on the individual character is how many blocks you can move each turn.
